Description
Cinque Terre honey is the product of an uncontaminated environment, where bees operate little disturbed by human activities, only taking shelter in the hive when strong sea winds sometimes make flight difficult. Produced in late April – early May, when the Erica arborea whitens the Cinque Terre with its characteristic flowering, this honey quickly solidifies into medium-fine-grained crystals, taking on a typical dense and opaque appearance.
Pairings: amber in color with orange tones, caramelized scent and characteristic flavor of “toffee”, it goes well with savory cheeses, such as Stagionato di Varese Ligure, San Stè dell’Aveto, Tome di goat and sheep.
